Rebuild Thami: Restoring Hope and Strengthening the Future

On August 16, 2024, the Thame community in Nepal was devastated by a catastrophic glacial lake outburst flood, destroying homes, the local school, and the community clinic. Many families are left without shelter and essential services, facing an uncertain future.

In response, we are deeply committed to the rebuilding and sustainable development of Thame Village . Our mission is to restore and enhance critical infrastructure, improve access to healthcare and education, and foster long-term economic resilience. Through strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts, we aim to rebuild a stronger, more sustainable future for the people of Thame. We want to focus on rebuilding not just in terms of restoring physical structures—but also in securing the future of its people, especially its children.

For many Sherpa families, financial hardships, often worsened by the loss of a father in the mountains, make education an unattainable dream. Without access to schooling, children face limited opportunities, threatening both their futures and the strength of the Sherpa community. By providing scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship programs, we empower these children with the knowledge and skills needed to build a brighter future while preserving their cultural heritage. Supporting their education uplifts not only individual lives but strengthens the entire community for generations to come.
